about us
Inspire is a student-initiated project aimed at raising awareness and funds for The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund. The SPMF was initiated in 2000 to heighten public awareness of the plight of children from low-income families. These children often do not have enough pocket money to sustain their day in school or have proper meals.

Thus, the School Pocket Money Fund works to ease the financial burden that these parents face in providing for their children’s education. Our 10,000 beneficiaries are given at least $1 a day depending on their situation, which they rely upon to pay for bus fares and warm meals at recess. Your contribution will be especially significant at this time of bleak economic outlook.

This year, the Inspire’09 team will be working with thousands of volunteers from various schools to raise money and awareness for the School Pocket Money Fund, through activities such as street sales, charity run, and fundraising concerts. In particular, we are organizing a total of 3 concerts featuring an exciting display of talents by local arts groups.

All proceeds will be donated to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.
